So after much experimenting during the semester, this is the final product. The materials are ordinary building supplies and the imagery is drawn from geometric Islamic designs. The concept behind this piece is that through the contrast of materials, the ordinary becomes transformed into the sublime, as well as acting as a trigger, creating an atmosphere of contemplation and a rethinking of the space, motifs and materials.

4th year Painting Show

Our 4th year painting show was at the beginning of November. The students who hung the show did an amazing job, it looked very proffesional and well considered. This is my piece that was in the show:

Drawing Installation

This is just one photo from a series I took documenting my final drawing piece, a site specific installation. My focus for the project was on the changes in the light patterns as they interacted with my installation. The inspiration for this piece came from my research of the space, as I observed and tracked the sunrise times, as well as from looking at Kara Walker's work that she did with silouhettes.
